The length of time it takes to see results from TF-EAP sessions with connEQtion, Inc. varies depending on the individual and the issues being addressed. Some clients may see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term therapy.

The therapists at connEQtion, Inc. are licensed mental health professionals with advanced degrees in counseling, nursing, or other mental health-related fields. They have extensive training and experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

ConnEQtion, Inc. currently offers TF-EAP to small groups of women as part of their recovery program. The organization is actively working to expand its services to provide TF-EAP to individuals and groups across all age ranges, including children, adolescents, and adults.

TF-EAP is a specialized form of therapy that integrates traditional trauma treatment approaches with equine-assisted activities. It is designed to help individuals regulate their nervous system and heal from trauma through interactions with horses in a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.

  • Trauma-Informed Framework: TF-EAP is grounded in evidence-based trauma treatment principles, emphasizing safety, trust, empowerment, and emotional regulation.

  • Equine Involvement: Horses are active participants in therapy. Clients engage with them through groundwork (not riding), including grooming, leading, and observing horse behavior. The horse’s responses can mirror clients’ emotions and behaviors, offering powerful insights.

  • Experiential Learning: Clients learn to regulate emotions, establish boundaries, and build healthy relational patterns through direct, hands-on experiences with the horses, perhaps more effectively than through talk therapy alone.

At connEQtion, Inc., we encourage anyone interested in TF-EAP to first connect with a licensed mental health professional. An initial assessment & referral helps ensure that TF-EAP is a safe and appropriate fit for your current needs and healing journey.
