Port Recovery Baltimore County provides transitional housing, counseling, medical assistance, parenting classes, and a supportive environment that promotes dignity, accountability, and stability for individuals working toward sobriety. ConnEQtion, Inc. is proud to enhance this work by offering trauma-informed equine-assisted psychotherapy for women in recovery.
Because untreated trauma—especially adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)—can increase the risk of relapse, our sessions focus on emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, and building trust through guided interactions with horses. These experiences complement traditional treatment and support long-term healing.
We currently offer our services to Port Recovery residents at a free or reduced rate, ensuring meaningful therapeutic support is accessible to those who need it most. As we grow, we aim to expand this program to additional recovery houses and communities.and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance.
Right now, we proudly partner with one recovery program, providing consistent, relationship-centered sessions that support women as they rebuild their lives. But the need is far greater than what we can currently reach.
With donor support, we aim to expand our services to additional recovery houses and, ultimately, to new communities. Every contribution directly funds program slots, horse care, trained facilitators, and safe therapeutic environments so that more women can access healing at no cost to them or their recovery program.
Your generosity helps us open our gates wider—making it possible for more women to experience hope, resilience, and long-term recovery through the powerful connection between humans and horses.
