History

Founded in 2023, connEQtion, Inc. is dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma through transformative partnerships with rescued horses.

We believe that healing is possible for everyone. By fostering safe, compassionate connections between people and horses, we aim to repair deep attachment wounds and support the journey from merely surviving to truly thriving.

What We Do

We deliver trauma-focused equine-assisted psychotherapy (TF-EAP) and learning experiences specifically designed for trauma survivors. Each of our programs is led by licensed trauma therapists and skilled equine professionals, ensuring both emotional and physical safety in every session.

connEQtion Herd

The connEQtion Herd—our group of rescued horses—is at the heart of every TF-EAP session. These horses are not only healing from their own pasts but also play a vital role in helping humans develop the patience, attunement, and communication skills essential for building healthy, connected relationships.

Peanut and Jesse are just two of the more than nine horses currently partnering in the therapeutic process, offering powerful opportunities for trauma healing through authentic connection.

Our Team

Our team is made up of licensed therapists and equine professionals with specialized expertise in areas such as trauma, anxiety, substance use, and relationship challenges. We are dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate care tailored to each individual’s needs. Through ongoing training and a commitment to evidence-based practices, we ensure our approach remains informed by the latest research and therapeutic innovations.

All TF-EAP sessions are facilitated by a licensed, certified psychotherapist to ensure clinical integrity and client safety. Our team is trained in the Polyvagal Equine Institute (PVEI) model and the Natural Lifemanship (NL) model—both rooted in attachment theory—which guide our trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to healing.

Our Approach

Our experienced trauma therapists take a trauma-informed approach, working in close partnership with each client to identify goals and create a personalized treatment plan. At the core of our work is the belief that healing begins with a safe, trusting, and supportive therapeutic relationship.
